Hi All,
I have a 1994 UBS69 Trooper/Jackaroo which I have removed the 3.1, and transplanted a mildly modified 4JB1T into.
The 4JB1T is pushing 345nm (derived torque) at the wheels up from 235 from the old 3.1, and i use the vehicle for towing a reasonably heavy caravan.
I just don't trust the MUA with this amount of torque while i'm towing my caravan, and as i cannot find anyone that has done what i do with the MUA, i really don't know how strong they are. I know from a few forums i found on google that the AR5 is known as a very strong box.
I am just seeing if anyone has replaced an MUA transmission from a 3.1 (4JG2) 1994 UBS69 trooper/Jackaroo, with an AR-5 form a 1998 - 2002 4JX1 trooper? IF so, what had to be changed for it to fit? Tailshaft, cross-members etc??
Regards.
