Parts manual or numbers

Postby Alwyn » Fri Nov 09, 2018 6:53 pm

Hi I'm trying to find a parts manual or online breakdown of the rear axle assembly on my 1996 bighorn, ubs69.

Specifically I want to know if the left and right rear axle shafts are the same part number or length. My right shaft snapped today, and it is a lot easier to get the left tomorrow or it'll be a full weekend project if it has to be swapped right side for right side.

Cheers

I think they are the same length. How is it possible to snap one of these. They are bigger than hummer driveshafts.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

I don't know what started the issue, but some thing has happened to crack the shaft by the retainer ring groove and it's slowly fatigued it's way through to the last 1/5 where it snapped. That was in the middle of an intwrsection...
