will a rodeo tf cv fit ok

Postby stardog » Tue Feb 16, 2010 7:27 am

Hi to every one just wondering if a complete cv from a holden rodeo tf 7/88-5/95 will fit a 94 3.1 td i can get one of these from roodogs for $220 delivered.
Which seems not a bad price for brand new one just for a spare.

probably a good fit. Be very carefull with after market cv joints. Most of them are not up to the job although thats twice the price of most of the chinese ones. If its for a spare I would just get a second hand one from a local wrecker

Thanks Geeves the trouble is all the 4x4 wreckers are fair bit of distance from where i live in sydney might give one a ring up the coast see what he has there so the tf will fit thats good news. just had my air flow snorkel arrive in the post so thats the next job on my list fitting it.

Just check to see that the CV is the same size in lengths, I heard somewhere that some CVs are a touch short then the MU ones, not sure what the side effect are.
I think mine might have that issue as they seem to SLIP under heavy load (like braking and in heavy turning in soft sand)

88 to 91 jackeroo is the same as Mu and rodeo. The even earlier jackeroo was the same length but different spline. The later one is longer

Be prepared for some frustration. Most Isuzu parts are interchangeable. CVs are not one of them. Tried putting a CV out of a Bighorn in my Wizard and the Bighorn one is 4mm bigger diameter. Got a new one from BNT, spline count was different. In the end took the old CV in and said "Get me one of these". Then checked very carefully before I walked out of the shop.

I think someone did price a new one recently. It was in the region of 750ish.
Most wreckers in NZ sell around 150
