Whats your speedo like now,? any significant handling changes on road? I am looking at 285/70r16's Bridgestone D694, I am a bit worried that it might be too bigger step.

Speedo reads 95 at 100kph, drives well, you can definitely notice the bigger tyres, 29 - 32 is a big difference in size, mine are same size as you are looking at. I hjave a lil bit of play in the steering, but without this I would suggest it would be all good! Handles fine mate, still goes round corners like a 4x4!

When was the pic at Ruapehu taken? It looks like fresh snow.
A word of warning about if in doubt go hard. Most times it works but coming down from mount Hutt last week we picked up a snowboarder who pointed out where the guy went over the edge at the beginning of the season. His car is still there. Suddenly Im all over the road on ice. Its a long way down just there
Just make sure brain is fully engaged before the right peddle.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Was about 3 weeks ago now. Yea I hear ya mate, was more the plan for getting out of the snow in the carpark!

Im always careful coming down the mountain, know what you mean by a long way down!!! and not too many decent barriers either!
