THE TWO MUS

Postby chelseamu7 » Mon Aug 30, 2010 6:51 pm

A lot has changed since I first introduced you guys to my truck, glad to say for the best tho :P

I've had my Mu now, for roughly 2-3 years and have loved every second of it, its pretty much made me biased on every other vehicle there is :P

In the first version of this Members Rig Post, I had said my partner and I wanted to kit out our Mus, and so far we have accomplished heaps on them, surprising seeing as tho we were living on apprentice mechanic wages, and uni student money.

It's great to be able to go down the list and tick of things we have done.

In the previous post, I said that Dan was interested in getting an ARB Air Locker, however he installed an auto locker in the rear which is constantly in use. Nice and cheap, and reliable, it is a bit brutal tho if your driving like a lunatic through corners, and i'm still on the fence to have it put in my car, but the difference is amazing.

The Blue mu has got some battle scars tho, we went 4wding and all the ruts in the ground had corroded away and the poor mu ended up rolling. My boyfriend was devastated.

Because of where it had rolled, it took three hours trying to get it out, thanks to my truck we got both cars home that night. A passer by didn't think a mu could pull another mu back onto its feet but we proved him wrong. Good news in the end, the only damage a squished drivers side tyre guard. The engine was absolutely fine, no mix of oil and water - we were very lucky!

I ended up getting myself a set of Muddies, "Federal Couragiass" (totally recommend them) they look nasty and definitely can go anywhere, still haven't needed to be towed out of a bog whole yet.

Tomorrow I am finally getting rid of my standard exhaust and getting my 3" mandrel bend exhaust. The guy who does it is amazing, he has done boyfriends and had no dramas welding up a new dump pipe.

These are some OLD photos of what we got up to.

Vehicle: Got my truck from a man in Jimboomba earlier this year. It's a reliable, re-painted red 1992 2.8l turbo diesel isuzu mu named Big Red. Found out after i bought my mu, is its engine was built in july, same month i was born along with the same year i was born, guess we are a perfect match as my fav colour is red too.

Forgot to mention, my boyfriend is working to buy another mu wagon and convert it into a ute making it a diesel ute, as they are hard to come by.

God I wish my missus was into mu's and 4wdriving :(

Very nice rigs though. Welcome to the club.
I did notice that you're looking into getting new exhausts, if I might take the opportunity to inform you that I sell laser cut dump pipe flanges. That is of course if you're wanting your new exhaust to be all the way from turbo to tip.

Just check out the link in my signature.

hey muzilla, the "P" plates are for the stages of driving classes from learner driver to an open licence in Australia. You start off as a learner at 16 and display yellow "L" plates then after a year of holding your learners licence you pass a test with a driving instructor and get onto your red "P" plates at 17 then after holding your red "P" plates for a year you can then get your green "P" plates at 18 then hold them for 2 years until your 20 or 21 and then get your open license were you are allowed to drive high powered vehicles and V8s. Pretty stupid process for being able to drive, but it is the road rules so you gotta obey them :P

Nice MUs Chelsea, the No plates are interesting the "C" would be for Chelsea I think :) but the rest must have a lot of meaning. Where is the off road photos taken?

Haha, yeah the C stands for Chelsea the rest are my initials and year of birth. The funny thing is that my boyfriend and my initials are exactly the same except our first names, kind weird hey. :P the photos are also taken in Canungra, which is at the bottom of Mount Tamborine if you have heard of those places.
