Just got to learn how to drive the thing in the mud, clay and sand. And I need to sort out the rubbing issue, especially on the left front

Things that have been done recently

striped gear sensor thingy and cleaned out old grease
Adjusted length of gear lever arm from box
Multimeter on TPS
and found what i think is the mythical kick down cable, was incredibly loose at idle ... Runs like a new truck

Jobs for January
Fix egr blockoff plate leak (with goo)
Mount Intercooler (rotate turbo)
Lower Radiator (small leak when hot from bottom hose)
Try to find the fuel adjusting screw
And talk to someone about getting some rated tow points on the truck so I can get stuck.

Hey, I have been emailing Shona from the EBOP Twin diffs, and was hoping to catch up with Rob Cameron in the next couple of weeks. Are you the same club? I am very keen to get out there!

I love the change your lift did! Looks great! BTW, I'm jealous of your 3.1 TD also.

Go to BNT or Cookes for your hooks.About the same price as that trademe and no freight on top. Also make sure they say 10000 lb not 4500kg. My club tested a variety of hooks a while ago and the 10000lb ones straighten when they fail the 4500kg ones snapped
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

cool, we actually have a BNT in town, and yeah a snapped tow hook doesn't sound like fun for the person doing the recovery

Thought that might have been the case, but would have looked weird if it wasn't you. He gave me your number but wasn't sure of any runs between now and nationals

we don't have any runs on until after our round of the nationals as I compete in the nationals as well and have been down in wellington this weekend competing. I take trips up thompsons, manawahe and minginui. We also have runs on farms that the club is lucky to be able to use and i usually have 2 night runs a year.

Well I have some presents to give to my truck, some aisin manual hubs that I am having issues removing the existing auto hubs and a intercooler that I am trying to fit.

I haven't got the turbo out yet to rotate it, I am having trouble with the oil feed/return, the larger pipe underneath, I can't work out an easy way to remove it. Any ideas?

Took the truck for a good cruise around the mid west coast on NZ at the weekend, heres a couple of snaps

Stayed in Otarohunga the nights and then did 250 odd kms on winding roads, the truck handled well, just wasn't overly quick through the windy parts, I was trying to be nice to my passengers
