EGR was blocked off tonight

And manual hubs went on instead of the fixed hubs, runs alot better around 100km with EGR blocked off

hi.. does your truck have full time four wheel drive as the manual or auto hubs shouldnt have made a difference unless they were seized on. with lever in 2wd the front hubs and diff should not move.
Oh well, can some one hook up the winch i cant open my door !!!!!!!!!

Mine are not auto or manual, they are the fixed type.

So basically the CV joints are spinning 24/7

When I brought the Isuzu both boots were split, I have since replaced front right CV, broken.

As I do a few miles, I thought it would be better to go manual, hubs.

Im not saying its making alot more horse power but, when you roll to a stop you actually roll.

before with the front diff/CVs it was kinda like having a partial handbrake on all the time.

I now have a vibration under the car, and a quaunchy noise on bumps ?????

The inertia ring on drive shaft is split all round, LSD diff right rear spins freely, left rear hard to turn.

Inside rotor left rear scored, like no pads or stone. Seems to be a little play in the wheel, Bearing??????

Just seems like alot more work, and Im still not sure where my noise is coming from, bent shock maybe? dunno

So had a quick look today, pulled left rear caliper off, brake pad inside was metal on metal. Chucked some more pads on the rear.

Took for a drive, and still have this.......... for a lack of a better word sqaunch noise, more often when cold maybe not so much on bumps as what I thought
earlier. It sounds like a dry suspension squeak but louder and really not predictable.

No noise once I hit the motorway and all the way home. Got home removed most of the Inertia ring on D shift as it was goosed anyways, now I have to tidy the rubber thats left as its an imbalance.

Took for a drive and this noise came back with a vengeance, sometimes I think it happens more shifting gears up or down but its not a gearbox noise.

Stumped ??????????????????????????

Bounced up and down on towbar and drove over bumps no noise and when its quiet its really quiet ?

Cant help you Im obviously useless at diagnosis :D

I would say knocking I would be looking at bushes, sway bay etc dunno.

Mine seems to be rotating grinding, may have to look at my front pads again.

Today it seemed to come and go randomly, but driving on a straight, slight bend right had the noise for 10 seconds or so, wheel bearing

I would of thought would be more constant, and I have spun the front wheels recently and couldnt hear anything, uni joint dont seem to have play but may be goosed.

My new plan maybe to go wheeling in the weekend, and see what breaks?????????????

Just spun the front wheels sound fine, checked pads look fine.

Slight play in rear universal joint drive shaft ??? Maybe my next look?

And I will check the hand brake shoes ???

Today, I am of the conclusion it is a power steer pump bearing.

Only happens when it is cold, goes away when warmed up.

And goes away even when cold if I soak the powersteer pump in CRC

true true but now Im not totally sure,

I definitely need a steerpump as it has a light skisk skisk noise that goes away with a squrt CRC.

This morning I squirted it and went for a drive and it was there, small bumps can bring it on, and it seems when I turn the wheel a little
may still be the pump.

Not sure if Ill just grab a secondhand one and give it a bash, or get one and get the bearing/seal done before installing dunno????

spray it somewhere else on the belt. My belts are incredible noisy due the clay dust on the surface. Cant clean them effectivly so only answer is new belts (or louder radio)
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
