THE MRS 96 3.1td WIZard

Postby MUVIT » Thu Sep 29, 2011 2:55 pm

Description:
bought it early this year, drove it back (brisbane to Darwin) and put about 20-25thousand kays on it without a hassel.
the mrs is learning to drive in it, i bought it so it would save the clutch in the MU.

Modifications and Accessories:
so far all i have done is rip the alloy bar off the MU.
& swap the tyres off the MU, it came with 16inch rims on city tyres.
i did this mainly for safety (roos pigs & shopping trolleys)
& that one day, yes one day she will grant permission to fit 33inch KM2s to the MU
with a steel X-rox bar
amen

Suspension: factory? monroe shocks old as the hills, soon to be bilstein
Body Lift: still in the box, soon to be 2inch
Tyres/Wheels: Mu rims 15 by 7s on 31inch BFG all terrains.
Traction Aids. factory LSD
Bullbar: stole it off my MU, will line it up properly when the body lift gets installed
Spot lights and Lighting: light force
Communications/GPS:
Dual Batteries:
Engine:3.1td auto
Exhaust: factory
Sound system:
External:
Internal: i love how the rear seats fold flat, when i drove it back from brissy i brought a ford 9inch diff with me.
Evakool fridge freezer would be good one day

Looks good, watch out for the bottom corners of the rear guards, some how they always get damaged

I prefer them without the writing down the side as well

She had a lift by the first owner who imported it, getting a bit soft now. Annie has a 50 K round trip to work each day and it uses about 11.5 LP100 (8.5 KPL) but when we go on a big trip, no towing, I can get up to 9.5 LP100 (10.5 KPL) and I am usually driving and do not spare the horses . We are running 255/70 X 16 HTs tyres.
Hope you both have as much pleasure owning your Wizard as we have in ours, believe there was only 35 imported into to Aus

the 2.8td rodeo radiator's core is not as wide as the 3.1td
i removed the lower radiator support tabs so it would fit

after the test drive ,The engine temp sits at 1/3
thats in the middle of the day 39degrees with A/C set at 23degres
The trans seems to shift better, id like to put a temp gauge on it tto see where it is
but towing a boat should a breeze now at 120kph

If its coil rear its the same as jackaroo or close enough. All the books here tell me mine has a pin at the top but really its a metal clad eye same as the jackaroo
