Hey mate,

nice looking wagon you have there. I have seen you around town a few times. Mine hasnt been out much as sorting out issues still.. haha.

might see u out there sometime, may look at doing a trip to woodhill at some stage (before the end of winter) but I have issues with woodhill and they are I always break something and have to limp home  last time the gearbox blew.

If you head out anywhere locally let me know I would be keen to tag along as local trips dont cost me over $100 in petrol lol.

Cheers

Makes for a long day when something goes wrong!!! :|
Have found a foresty block at Tapuhi just north of whangarei that we are trying to get into and clear the old tracks.
Will let you know when we head there again too :D

Ok sweet let me know ow you get on with that block.

Haha I havent actually had a chance to fully use them on a track or bogs yet its only done the odd small bit and they dig heaps but you dont need to give it the berries to get traction it just keeps moving.

The above pics where abouts is that track by your place?

The area is Tapuhi, around the Hukernui area.
Some of the pics are on a friends beef farm and the over growen pics are just a bit futher down the same road.
Need to spend a full weekend in there and do some track clearing with chainsaws when the weather gets a bit better.

Yip sweet let me know will be keen as.

Mine is only a small issue where there is a funny miss and backfire sound out the intake when starting if its been sitting for a few days and this is causing my overfueling but its not as bad since I cleaned the ISC and pulled the intake off and cleaned that out. Most probably will be sorted with new plugs, leads and map sensor.

Not wanting to spend any $$ at this stage as we maybe moving to Oz in the next few months so once I know what Im doing is when I will be making a decision on what Im going to fix lol

Mikes one I think is a bit more serious haha.

as the 18/19 being a pay week it makes it easier for me :)

Went into work today (Sunday) and preformed a 50mm Diesel fuel tank lift.
Made up 50mm spacers for both sides then cut and welded the factory protection plate to suit the lift.
5 hours later with a bit of lunch in between and its all finished :D
Easy to do if you have 1/2 a day and a mig welder.

Yip the above photos, more of the ones that are well over grown.
So far the plan is to meet at the Springs Flat pull off area there or the cafe on the road side.
I have your number so will txt you the time when I find out.
If you have a chainsaw or hand saw, it may come in handy haha.

G'day Scott,
Nice Rig.

How have the 90/100(should it be 130)W headlight bulbs gone with the standard wiring? Have you melted the plastic connectors?

Do you take or just leave off your rear bar when wheeling?

Cheers
Ian

Sweet had a chat with the wife and all is good for Sunday
How far from springs flat is it?
Im going to put the big tyres on as with the weather we have had lately I dont want to use the small ones.
but obviously with track clearing there will be a lot of stopping and starting so wont get to go hard which will save me gas :) haha

Haha I dont have a chainsaw but I do have a few hand saws one really good one that I found in the back of mine when I got it (Ex company forrestry car)

The bulbs are 90/100w and I haven't had a problem with them at all. No melted connectors.
I will be going back to a 55/60w bulb because I didn't notice any big difference in light.
The Narva Plus range of bulbs look better with out the extra heat of a higher wattage bulb.
I have removed the front and rear bumpers as they are in good cond. I will be making up some steel bars front and
rear when I get a chance.

Sounds good. If you ever want to sell the silverstones , I will be very keen! :D
Have you been or know where the Hukerenui pub is? Next road after that.
Looks like there will just be 3 of us on sunday so we will have to have a beer when we finish at the pub :D

Ok time for a quick update :)
Last week over the space of 4 nights after work I made up a complete new exhaust system from the turbo back.
I already had the 3" dump pipe so that part was easy. I did have to heat and bend it up 20mm to clear the oil filter though.
After the exhaust was finished it did make a BIG improvment!
Before it felt like the truck was towing a trailer load of fire wood and now its like I have taken the trailer off. Thats the best way I can explain it.
Tested it out over the weekend and it is great. Coolant temp sits at 1/4 now insteed of 1/2. Sound is only slightly more than factory, deeper sound.
Out on the open road it sits at 105kph easy with alot less throtle and if you want to pass something on a passing lane you now can :D
Engine now runs 18PSI boost and haved turned up the fuel a tad over a 1/4 turn. (very slight amount of gray smoke under full load on the open road up hill)

I used :
3" dump pipe,
200mm flexi
450mm straight through resonator,
350mm straight through muffler,
5x 45 degree swept bends
3x 90 degree swept bends
Used all the factory mounting points.

Saved myself about $700 by not taking it to an exhaust shop. Hardest part I found was making it around the fuel tank.
I would recommend this upgrade!! :D

Next on the list is:
Rear locka,
Custom bar work front and rear and rock sliders for the sills.
