Hi Guys and greetings from South Africa... I am the pilot of wants know to us as the Isuzu Frontier. We know it as a SUV which is not as popular in general in SA but our isuzu's are well sought after. Mine is a 2001 the last year we could still get them and then the dmax was on the market. The frontier was the only SUV that Isuzu sold and carried in SA. We know it as the KB320 which is the 3.2l v6 quad camshaft, they only came in Manuel and today are not the popular choice due to the high fuel price. So that's some background I have for you guys...oh and the 6VD1 in SA never had cats installed like most counties had.

i like it.
I wonder what year the springbok's stopped making/selling this model?
It seems they really wanted a MU, but with 4 doors & just kept upgrading the cosmetics.
The same way the aussies did with the holden rodeo.
Maybe the Frontera didnt cut the mustard so they designed the Frontier...

Ive allways wanted to put MU front guards on the mrs Wizard, but the rear guards will look abit silly. The flares on the springbok model suit it alot. I want a set lol. They look alot like the prado type.

one other silly question. Did the south efrican army use isuzu's.
Imagine seeing one of these painted in camo with the rear glass off & a machine gun on the roof.

Ha ha ha true, it's kind of a stretched out MU with a round nose and flares over the archers. We also have the MU in two door but a lot are imported, it's one of the only vehicles we can bring in and have resisted on local plates.
As far as I know our isuzu's are a derivative of they had in Canada. Not really sure if it was rodeo or frontera.

Sorry to disappoint but no the army did not have these ha ha but I see what you mean, they could work well that way. As far as I now there where more specialized vans to transport people in, they where custom made from Isuzu. I also have seen some images of early 80's with framers protecting there land with machine guns mounted on them. That was ute tho, I'll try find the pics....
