MU In Canada

Postby DrakeC » Mon Apr 13, 2015 4:41 am

Hey Guys! I have been quietly viewing this forum for over a year now, purchased my MU in sept. 2013 and have loved it all the way.

Suspension: Home made extended shackles and torsion crank
Tyres/Wheels: 16" Isuzu Vehicross wheels (polished sanded & painted Black) with 285/75/16 Kenda klever MT - 33x11.5
Traction Aids: NEXT ON MY LIST
Bullbar: ARB for Isuzu Rodeo with 9500 lb winch
Spot lights and Lighting: JW Speaker Headlights & 2X 9000 lumen LED Flood lights (China)
Communications/GPS: CB Radio
Dual Batteries: Planned
Engine: Removed EGR, have all the documents/tools to time fuel pump
Exhaust: removed muffler, straight pipe after cat
Sound system: stock speakers, bluetooth head unit
External: Custom Rock sliders, Custom hitch tube, Plans: roof rack and snorkel
Internal: heated seats (factory seats added heating elements)
Others: turbo timer, webasto coolant heater

I have done some work with it since I got it, bought in with only 62,000km!
Work I have done: Brake pads front/rear, timing belt, water pump, glow plugs, egr, alternator, serviced injectors,
Since changing the alternator I have an odd issue with brake boost needing to "warm up", (after I shut it off it bleeds somewhere and must charge when I start it again)
I have just started seeing rust on the undercarriage, so near future will clean it up underneath and undercoat.

My MU was in a local car show this weekend with a group of vehicles representing our local offroad club

DrakeC will definately be a 4JB1 as he mentioned timing the injector pump in his vehicle description.

MUinCanada, with a 94, should be a 4JG2. The changeover was July/August 1993.

In theory they even made the 4ZE1 into 1993.

....unless of course they have been repowered.

I love that you guys know so much about Mr.MU all I know is I really enjoy driving him. My VX is the 3.5, and I could probably tell you anything you ever wanted to know about it. My MU came from Japan about 5 years ago. Federal law here says they have to b over 15 years old to import a RHD, oh I'll take a minute to look under the hood and figure out what engine Mr. MU has....

The engine code is cast into the engine block just above the starter motor.

Or look for UCS55 or UCS69 ID tags under the bonnet.

Or the chassis number is also stamped on the outer suface of the chassis rail that is viewable in the righthand rear wheel well (towards the front). It can be quite hard to see sometimes.

You can also tell when your vehicle was manufactured by finding a code the that reads something like AH/JD which equals 07/93 (July 1993)
A=0
B=1
C=2
D=3
E=4
F=5
G=6
H=7
I=8
J=9
