was a great day, yea im stoked with the flex of the rear, disappointing how restrictive the ifs is, still manage to go most places tho. no mods to the rear apart from new 40mm lifted coils and extended shocks, they are raw nitro's. and the coils are Dobi's, can get part numbers if you want

that would be cool if its easy, dont stress if its hard. IFS is the downfall to all 4wds i reckon. often think about doing the solid axel conversion and use coils instead of leaf springs. it can be done using the toyota front axel and leafs but then by the time you add the cost of the conversion, may as well just get a toyota!! would be werid having a hard front and a soft rear. dont know if it can be done with coils in the front but cant see why not.

yea shure is a downfall, im happy with the way my truck performs, ive never liked the hiluxs, to hard to get in and out of for a tall person, and i seem to be forever pulling them out haha.
part numbers are:
front shocks-G6031BY - Nitro Shock
rear shocks-G6029Y - Nitro Shock
rear coils- C21-165V

any BNT automotive store should be able to get them in,

i payed around $650 all up

Thats a pretty impressive truck you have there mate. Im starting to do stuff like that to mine but onece the rego expires then its off the road for 3 months while it gets a lift and rear bar work done. Im in Whangarei and will be heading upto Ahipara over new years so might check out that gumfield track. Will PM you for directions etc.

Nice truck man, going to do something similar.

When you did the body lift did you have to remount the radiator, extend steering shaft?

What sort of lift did the springs give you? I am tossing up between OME springs and shocks and something else at the moment.

Cheers
Matt.

i have a custom full aluminium rad with electric fans, if using the original tho it is a good idea to lower it, because then you can still have full function of the fan shroud and you wont have any overheating problems, or leave it were it is and put high qaulity electric fans in and get rid of the viscios one alltogether. i would go electric as you can switch them off wen going through water. my viscios fan took big gouges out of the original rad lol.

didnt have to extend steering shaft, only fuel lines and brake booster vacume hose, also the fuel filler hose if u done do a tank lift. if its manual ull have to bend the gear sticks, if its auto just loosen off the gear selector linkages before doing the lift, you may need to bend/adjust the transfer case stick to get into low4, i just cut the boot a little.

spring gave me about a 50mm lift or more as the old springs sagd heaps but they only give 40mm lift from stock/factory hight. depend what you budget allows, if i had the extra mony i would have gome ome, but the dobi springs and raw nitro shocks seem to do the job very well and wer only a fraction of the price of ome. i only paid 600 all up and ome was well over $1000.
