Nice rig mate, the 3.1 TD in them is pretty good, we have a one in our MU Wizard which is the model before yours. Have got up to 10.7 kpl / 9.35 lp100.

Cheers Bruce

By the looks of things the factory diff lock was only available in South Africa. Is it cable or air operated?
Couple of things to watch with the 3.1 engine. Never ever let it overheat. Also are you changing the auto trans at the same time or is it manual which would make it a rare beast
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

hi Bruce, your MU is a looker it self.
The diff lock is electro actuated and operates from engine vacuum. The gearbox is a standard 5 spd manual.
The diffs has a car like ratio which is not to great for towing. GM rectified that later. This baby does 150 km/h in 3 gear. The problem is that in 5th gear the v6 is sitting at 2900rpm. That is out of the torque range. A blower from Australia would cost me around 6500 dollar... to much for added torque at lower rpm. now i am fitting the 3.1. I am taking note of the over heating. Some website say the cause is the EGR and typically on the auto box. So i will be blanking the egr and add temp. for the exhaust gas and the motor.
Cheers.

thanks.
the current is a 57mm
I will retain the 3.2 petrol radiator and search for some serious cooling fan. i am also adding an electrical push fan.
The 3.1 is basically assembled. waiting for the head and diesel pump to return from the service shop.
