1991 2.8 Mu tires

Postby Millst94 » Sat Dec 29, 2012 7:46 pm

Hi all, sorry if this is in the wrong section, I bought some cheap wheels and tires off trade me on the understanding that you can squeeze 35" wheels under the arches, I got a set of 34" but just lined them up and I'm starting to doubt they'll fit, can anyone enlighten me? Cheers ed

not 100% about the mu but i know my 33s rub on my bighorn with a 50mm lift. But a 50mm bodylift should fix it.
i would think a mu would have smaller wheel arches so you may need to go up at least 100mm

im sure someone around here will have done it and will be able to help more

see here for 35s on a mu

33 fit with 2 inch lift 35 normally need 4 inch lift and sometimes have to cut the rear bottom half of the gaurd off where it joins by the door (depending on offset of wheels)

well i tried them today and they do fit... just. the rears rub on full articulation but the i needed to lift the front as it caught the plastic bumper one side and my wing (as it was crumpled anyway) before i lifteed it i measured it and some monkey had already been at te front suspension i suspect due to a rather large wife in the passenger seat too often. thanks for your help though is whatre my options for lifting the rear (lifted the front 40mm ish)

My 35"asfit after a 2" lift a 2" body lift and a bit of cutting.
Horrible to drive due to the torsion bars being wound up so far tho.
cheers, Josh
