need advice on rusted window seals

Postby MooMooMoo » Thu Feb 20, 2014 2:20 pm

yesterday we had quite a bit of rain. . as i got in my car i realised it was still raining inside!!!
Water was falling from the roof lining and i traced it back to some pretty ugly rust around the rear windows.

do you think it would be a costly job to remove rear windows and get someone to fully fix the rust. or should i just clean it up and silicone the crap out of it??

yeah ... wish i have the money to really fix my truck up the way i want to.

do they paint Isuzu's with very thin paint or what? every single MU i have seen either has peeling clear or faded paint and rust.

i got a feeling i may nee dto silicone it just to stop water for now until i can afford to get the car bogged and sprayed.

silicone is not suitable for a temporary repair. Its nearly impossible to get it all off and bog and paint will not stick to it. Also it wont stick at all if there is any dirt rust etc If its possible its better to bog it yourself If the rust is similar to my bighorn its not a hard job to get a reasonable finish and there are paint suppliers around that will mix you a spray can to match your paint. Google rust repair and there should be a few good tutorials on this type of repair.
