bighorn camper? Has anyone done this?

No...changes to your body and chassis due to carnage does not count

bighorn camper? Has anyone done this?

Hi all
I have been looking for a while for a van to replace the wizard but so far nothing has come up that quite meats my spec of AWD minimum able to carry 5 comfortably most of the time and can be converted to a simple camper with a minimum of fuss and likewise back again. I did look at a Nissan Largo van that only missed the cut on its age and mileage (and 12l/100k on petrol). In the time Ive been looking Ive seen many lwb bighorns go past and measurements suggest they might just work So Im after pictures and ideas from others that have done this.
Before anyone says why not the wizard it is long enough and wide enough to fit a queen size airbed on a flat board on top of the wheel acrches and top of the folded down seat but there is barely enough room to turn over and the wife has pretty much requested (ok demanded) room to be able to sit up to get dressed in the morning. Besides the wizard might be finding its way into off road duty after the bighorns next wof inspection. Bighorn could be on its way to the glue factory.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Do you mean something similar to this + a roof top tent maybe ??

Or perhaps this.

Another option is to get one of those Rodeo motorhomes that seems to be very popular in NZ, forget about good off road capabilities though.

Or something like this (imagining it`s a Bighorn)
