Removing car trim to change gear boot

Postby alanpyc » Thu Aug 15, 2013 12:17 pm

Hi Guys:

For Isuzu Mu 1995 - How to you remove the plastic trim to change the gear boot leather? Current one looks pretty ugly

Image

Have removed 3 screws (as per red arrow in pic) but the thing doesn't seem to budge, and I don't want to pull too hard. Any tips on that?

Also any recommendation as to where I can find a replacement boot?

Thank

You will need to look inside the center console. There will be hidden screws somewhere near the back of it. There may also be more screws at the edges at the carpet level on the rear of the console as well. have a dam good look for screws and hidden screw covers.then remove the whole thing be careful of any wireing. then there will be 2 screws on the T bar piece on the back edge. Hidden by the center console. you should be able to remove the plastic then but again watch for any wiring. That should do it.

Put back in reverse order. :D :D :D

Thanks I've found the 2 screw sitting at the back. Once removed they whole thing just pulls out =)
