Perky anyone?

Postby bigvern68 » Fri Jul 31, 2015 8:07 am

G'day all

Long suffering Bighorn owner, can any of you guys and girls recommend anyone in Hastings area that likes to do the odd perky...I've a small coolant leak up somewhere near the alternator
Would love to have a stab at it myself but lack of knowledge and tool prohibits it..

cheer in advance

Terry

90% chance its a hose
2 most likely options are the 2 hoses on the turbo or the bottom main hose
The bypass hose between the water pump and thermostat housing is also possible
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

I had a good look around and the hoses that I can see all look ok, there is some pooling of fluid on top of the crankshart housing, immediately under the water pump, under the water pump though is dry, I think it could be a gasket perhaps that not sealing, would the pully/crankshaft housing have a gasket that would/could leak coolant?

Bottom of the same housing seems to ooze ever so slightly too.

cheers

no but the thermostat houseing does Also the thermostat housing to head does pluss there is a small hose in there well hidden from view and the top hose. Then there are 3 or 4 sensors but they rarely leak
