Usc55 1993 Mu Brake Caliper Wanted!

Postby SamMu93 » Thu Nov 24, 2016 9:42 am

Hi chaps, ive just noticed that im missing one of my slider bolts from my right rear brake caliper!
So if anyone has a stuffed caliper or spare caliper they want to sell/give me can you let me know!
I have no idea where/when it fell out- I now know why it was making so much noise when rolling backwards and braking...

Could try Motex but they will want to sell a complete caliper. If its the bolt then you might be able to match the bolt at a fasteners shop
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

The bolt is a 10.5mm thread from memory, no one has them and i brought all the stock of genuine bolts in nz, when i worked for holden as they are always falling out of my calipers, might have 1 somewhere but am going on a 3 day 4x4 trip starting tomorrow

Thanks Rob- yeah Ive been informed by others that this high tensile bolt will have to come from a wrecked caliper- very unlikely that any shops like coastal fasteners etc will have anything like this. I have been looking on tardme for a caliper and so far have only been quoted $180 for one caliper... So obviously I didnt buy that.

i will have a look in my shelf tonight but not hopeful I did replace a caliper on my old truck but dont know if I kept the old one.
I was told a long time ago Corolla front brakes use the same bolt but this has not been checked
