Description:
Hi! My name is Jo. Im from Perth and I brought this 93' Isuzu Mu on saturday. The weekend before, I found this car, read all about it and got to the dealership where it was being sold at opening time and signed to buy. I have been luking on this forum for a week now getting to know more about this Mysterious Utility so i would be better armed. But when i first saw the pic, I found it irresistable and could not wait to purchase it. Also, my knowledge on cars and 4wd is small and limited. But i have done 4wd as I go with my partner. He is currently driving a Mitsubishi Pajero of similar vintage. He wasnt so sure about me driving this car, but i got it! Much to his dismay (I think)... I love driving this truck even though i have only owned it for about 24 hours LOL
The Car:
1993 Isuzu Mu 2.8ltr TD Utility
Roughly 287,000kms on the clock
AUTOMATIC
Modifications and Accessories: None that I can see
Suspension: Stock
Body Lift: It looks raised a little, is there anyway I can check?
Tyres/Wheels: Wheels look stock, tyres as in pics (no idea on the specs)
Traction Aids: (LSD, auto lockers or Air/electric lockers etc) no idea...
Bullbar: N/A
Spot lights and Lighting: N/A
Communications/GPS: N/A
Dual Batteries: N/A
Engine: 2.8 LTR TD... the belts look newish and the water pump looks ok also. I'd say i have brought it after the owner fixed it, so hopefully it doesnt need any more major work
Exhaust: Looks newish, when i get it serviced soon, i will know.
Sound system: Pioneer head unit, Clarion speakers, ipod input
External: N/A
Internal: It has a jeep sticker on the inside tailgate... does that count? LOL

The side view is from the dealer. It was really dirty and dusty with lots of small scratches. I buffed most of them out and washed, vacuumed, 2 coats of wax the car. It looks alot better now! I really love that black interior leather look!
Its not really a black coloured car, more like a deep navy blue? Does anyone know what colour this is called so i can get touch up paint for it? I would love to cover some of the deeper scratches. It has some rust bubbles along the top near the windshield but other than that, the engine bay and the rest of the car is really tidy.
My to do list:
touch up paint
get a nice nudge/bash plate in front and one of those nudge bars for the back.
maybe repaint the ute cover black again to make it look new
spotties
a major service.
to fix the rev tacho as currently it does not work
to buy a service workshop manual also
and a nice dash cover to stop it from splitting.
Yes my list is pretty pathetic, but these are the things that i think i can comfortably do now, without needing to rob a bank LOL
Does anyone know of a good place to service a MU that doesnt cost the earth? I am tempted to go to Automasters, but would like to know if anyone has had any good luck with mechanics etc.
So far i just want to make it into a reliable daily driver (have no problems yet), but want to make sure its all good before any major driving is done. Then I plan on doing some 4wd some where... maybe lancellin, but i would prefer dirt then sand.
Anyway, thats my rant! Cheers!
