Postby gdr1808 » Sat Sep 07, 2013 10:02 pm

why is it so hard to find cam timing diagrams for this model as , most of us must have had a problem with this at some time in its life time ??. is this the black sheep of the trooper family . or are the other models just the same ?? . i have no problems with the 31tdi getting info . there must be someone out there that can put there finger on this info . my parts come in 2 weeks . the info i need is for the model with twin cams linked with chains. + timing belt set up . all help would be appreciated. many thanks members for your help . Gary

na thats the one we call sohc . but its still in the class as 6vd1. but mines dohc 6vd1. yea i kno  . but did get info from canada . thanks for all your help gents . most of my models ended up round jap land . it hase 2 cams on each head but driven by chains . then one cam is driven by the timing belt as it would be on the gear linked 6vd1 dohc or sohc engine . but time belt has more teeth on this model . allso got higher compression on this model . yep b nightmare . gary ;)

Hi Gary, I have a 92 3 dr bighorn with the 3.2 DOHC motor and I just can't seem to find any manuals or info on this one. Its got vacuum pipes all over it and what looks to be 2 EGR valves coming off the passenger side exhaust manifold. No MAF sensor or Idle sensor which is shown on the manual I've found. It keeps stalling when I slow down to stop at the lights so something is wrong with the idle control but its just nowhere like the other 6VD1 motors I can get info on. Did you by chance when you were hunting for timing info find any other general information about the engine and its miles of vacuum pipes?
Thanks
Paul
