really depends on you and your budget :D if you can fit 33" with your current setup then why not?

I think 33 look the part on the MU, i had, stocks, 33's and 35's. out of them all if the budget allows i would go with the 33's. butmake sure you have the lift otherwise you'll have problems

33's on an 8 inch rim is a little touch and go, but they will fit.
I have 32x11.5's on 8" rims and they are a great combination, have only ever popped a bead once.
One thing to think about is that the bigger the tire, the more it "gears up" your vechile, so if you think your vechile is a little slugish now, then 33's will make it worse.
Best thing to do before parting with your dosh is try and get a set off a mate and have a play on them, off and on road to see what you think. Rims off a toyota or partrol/safari will fit, the off set is not critical just for a test drive.

Some of the 33s available are not a great deal bigger than some 32s - like the maxxis buckshot mudders and the nankang mudstars - bit wider though.

Prior to buying mine I measured them all with a tape and none of the main brands were actually 33", but the BFGs were the tallest. Some of the special mud tyres like the simex are genuine size.

32s or 33s will fit with a 2" bodylift, but the issue is width. Make sure the 11.5" or 12.5" will not project too far from side - this needs certification or extended flares if not too far out. And 8" rims will be fine with 33s - have them myself and spot on.

I have 33" bighorns on 8" wide ROH rim land cruiser off set and they rub in the rear of the front guard when nose heavy while turning.
I have the 2"suspension and 2"body lifts.
Not if my off sets are wrong or snagging front end, maybe my torsion bars are not up enough?
I should not take it off road due to this ????????

I really want 33 x 10 but they are to find second hand/swap

I have 33x12.5's on 8" rims and they fit perfectly, they recommend a wider rim but with that you risk popping a bead.
I have a 40mm bodylift and a 25mm suspension lift but they still rub while turning into a drop aswell. They make a nice rubbing noise when they
do rub, I've got -24 offset rims which doesn't help. I meant to trim the guards when I fit them but never got around to it, but they seemed to have modified the guards themselves ;)

The landcruiser off set is a bit more than standard isuzu ones, but this shouldn't cause the tires to rub that much. If your happy with the height of your vechile then the torsion bars are where you want them to be. Check your top bump stops as they could be worn, or missing, letting the wheel travel upwards too far, or your torsion bars could be getting past it and don't have as much spring as they should.

On a lwb UBS69 Bighorn like yours the 33 should fit ok with a 2 inch body lift. You might get a little rubbing when turning and brakeing but not enough to worry about and a tiny bit of trimming should fix
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

I had 33's and 35's on the saeset of rims, 15x8 neg 30 offset, and 15x10 neg 44 offset, 33;s were fine, 35's needed guard chopping in the rear of the front arch.

NO it will not fit, anyone who has 33" would/will have a 2" body lift as well, and even then (most of us) are getting some rubbing in front arch. Some guys with 33" have actually cut the front arch to eliminate this.
I'm going to drop down to 32" tires when I can sell my muds

I had my 33's on with just a 40mm body lift and it can be done, but they rubbed alot in the front guard while turning under compression. The only reason I lifted it was to get more flex out of the rear

Everything is possible if you have the money. You will need 2 or 3 inches of suspension lift and at least 4 inches body lift and you will still need to trim guards etc. May have to reshape the rear door frame and door or lift even higher. You will also start breaking cvs and diffs. Best way would be SAS useing patrol diffs but your then heading into monster truck territory with mods costing more than the truck

Have you asked yourself why such a big tyre?

Screw it!, do the mods, a bighorn with 35s would look narley!, just say its for a family holiday and you need a decent vehicle to get you there.... thats what id do....

Andrew

I'm running 32 x 11.5 on roh? steel rims with standard offset and the fit inside the arch far enough to get a wof but if you look in the wing mirror you can see the wheels go up and down and the flare on rodeos isnt as big as a mu. Do have a fair bit of lift though. According to the firestone calculator my speedo is about 15% out now

The WOF rule for NZ is that as long as the TREAD is inside the guard/arch its legal, even if the sidewall sticks outside the guard/arch a little bit. Hope you get what i mean.
