A x member did a while ago and it ran 17psi from just below 2k all the way to the limiter Ran very well. He then sold the car to a relitive and the turbo blew within months. It did have the 3.1 turbo death rattle though so no surprise
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
Do you think there would be much difference between the 2.8 and the 3.1 in a UBS69 body? I have a completely rebuilt 2.8 that I want to put in for fuel economy reasons. I will be fitting the RHF5 turbo off the 3.1 though, so I hope it won't be too laggy as it starts boosting at 1400 rpm currently.
Thanks greeves. Isuzu Rob. Thanks for your reply. With my engines, it's the other way around. My 2.8 has TONNES more torque between 1500 and 2500rpm than the 3.1 I have. The 3.1 is stock and nothing happens till it gets to about 1800rpm. After that, they're about the same. I'm going to try the 2.8 with the 3.1 turbo and see how I go.
