I have a large fmic already and have moved the battery so the turbo sucks cold air straight from that side through a k&n filter inside an enclosure that has cold air ducted to it. The stock setup was bad, dragging the air through a long intake path plus over the motor to heat it up. I don't yet have an exhaust though so don't expect any max hp figures from me yet until I make something up at the end of the year.
stardog wrote:Should be interesting if they actually do give you more torque cheaper than a IHI turbo to buy I looked at the mambo turbo ages ago but didn't buy 1 short on funds so I bought a cheap turbo seems to work for now full boost im getting 15psi.
If it gives any problems might look at 1 of the mambos for the old wizard .
stardog wrote:I bought it on eBay cost me $245-00 delivered from a mob in Sydney I will see if I can find the invoice it is still working fine so far no problems holds boost and spools up pretty good.
awhitbread wrote:Well I fitted the TD04hl-15t from Mamba, goes pretty good. Have the 1.5 bar spring tension in the wastegate actuator, turned the fuel up another 1/4 turn. No black smoke unless flat to the boards, was lucky enough to have a drag this morning against a landcruiser duel cab ute v8, it was neck and neck nothing in it. I'm guessing when I finally fit a 2.5" exhaust I should get the last bit of power out of it as it is probably a little restricted now.
