UCS69 MU Speedo Type

Postby Caveman » Tue Sep 12, 2017 8:00 pm

I have put larger tyres on my 1996 MU 3.1 TD and want to and just the Speedo reading. Is the Speedo Mechanical or Electronic. It's a 5spd Manual transmission. What have other people used for Speedo adjustment?
Thanks
Stephen

Speedo reads 100km/h, GPS app on phone shows around 110km/h. I have changed the 245/70 R16s for 33"x11.5" on 16'" Rims. The Tyre's actual dimensions are closer to 34".
A friend of mine has an older UCS55 (I think) 92 MU with the 2.8 TD an he had a mechanical speedo correction box like
http://www.marks4wd.com/speedo-correction/mfk1468-12.html.
From what I have seen I suspect the newer UCS69 could have a electronic speedo as opposed to the mechanical and wanted to know what I need to use for this model.

If they are both 100 then that sounds like job done. If its close then the wof guy wont notice and you get a saving on ruc charges

Sorry typo 110km/h on GPS and 100 on Speedo. Think the Tyre size must diff must account for around 15% using a online calculator (29.5" to almost 34")
