MU Parts Question

Postby Chemist » Mon Apr 23, 2018 6:46 pm

Hi All,

I have recently purchased a 1992 Isuzu MU. It is a manual with a 2.8 in it. I brought it to get a roadworthy done on it and they gave me a laundry list of things that need to be done to it. I live in Queensland, Australia. The local Isuzu dealer was no help at all since the car was not sold here. I was hoping that all, if not most of the parts are interchangeable with the Holden Rodeo. I just had the windscreen changed, Novus quoted me almost $500 since it was an imported car. I called another little shop and they said it's a Rodeo windscreen, we have it in stock, $154 changed out.

The parts I'm looking for are as follows:
CV boots, only one is cracked, but I'd rather do all of them at the same time.
Sump seal.
Differential pinion seal.
The steering box is leaking, can it be rebuilt or?
The front sway bar bushing are cracked, I'd rather do all of them.

Are all of these parts interchangeable with the Rodeo of the same year?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Everything on that list is interchangable with same year rodeo. No issue. If the steering box is leaking at the joint to the steering wheel that seal can be done in place but still an ugly job
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
