Fuel Pressure Regulator Vacuum Switch

Postby WestOz » Thu Oct 11, 2018 5:11 pm

I'm trying to source the vacuum switch solenoid that controls the vacuum on the fuel pressure regulator. Online I can find the actual pressure regulator and I can find the fast idle solenoid, but I can't for the life of me find the vacuum switch ;) ;) .

Do any of the gurus out in Club Isuzu world know where I can source one. I was hopeful it as a fleabay item, but apparently not. Doesn't seem to appear on any of the aftermarket auto parts sites either, so maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing.

Engine is a 2.6L 4ZE1 in a 1995 Holden Rodeo Spacecab.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Ok, managed to find a second hand VSV, but when I pulled mine out it seemed to be working correctly. The problem is the ECU isn't actually triggering the VSV for the fuel pressure regulator. I wired an indicator LED across the VSV and it never gets turned on. The mystery deepens at this point. I don't have the VSV for the canister purge and there is no EGR valve. Doesn't look like there is any place for the EGR valve on the manifold or the tube on the exhaust. In any case with those two parts missing the ECU shows no error codes which I would have expected it should. So let's assume the EGR was removed and the manifolds welded up. To stop the check engine light coming on, could the ECU have been rechipped back in the past so it ignores the missing bits? Was this possible once upon a time? My indicator LED on the wiring for the missing canister purge VSV stays on all the time, which is also incorrect from what I understand. So I'm thinking either the ECU is modified or it's waiting for input from another sensor that is faulty. I have checked the throttle position sensor all ok. Not sure what else it might be looking for. Ideas welcome on all of the above.
