Recommended tyre size for 1997 Wizard

Postby BEUKESD » Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:08 am

Hi Guys, I'm new here and still figuring out how to find stuff, don't know if this is the right forum or not.

Was just wondering what tyre size is okay to go to on a 97 MU Wizard, I understand that the bigger the tyre, the less power you get and it can mess up your gear ratio.

I've got 245/75R16 MT on at the moment but I want a bit more ground clearance as I've been catching a lot on the transmission crossmember and bash plate. It already had a bit of a lift with spacers in the back and the torsion bars wound up.

I understand that wizards are known to be cheese graters but if I can get a bit more clearance that would be good without losing too much power.

Cheers.

265/75/16 will fit no issue unless the suspension has sagged. New springs and wind the torrsions for a little height. Wizards are a good truck

not sure you can but I can lay on my side under the gearbox xmember on my bighorn with the tyres I quoted above and a mildish lift

Does anyone know where to get raised coils and shocks? I don't mind shipping them but would prefer a Christchurch supplier.

Cheers.

Google Cobra Springs Christchurch. There are a few suppliers
