Hey isuzurob i know a guy headded down to that, sounds like a load of fun..
mine will hopefully be finished in a couple months so i can start on the engine mods, trying to get about 220-240hp from it.. Just enough to clear the tires when needed.

yea is a crazy race, mate safari has ute chop, big turbo, longer wheel base, all done in 2 months, another mate got a supercharged lexus hilux, and rana in big black is gana try win it in his 800 odd hp truck and 1690 ftlb torque, 220hp is alot of power out of a 3.1?? think it might die

the 3.1 already has a touchy head. That horsepower is going to make a lot of extra heat. Had it been the 2.8 I would of aimed for even more but expect to loose low end torque on the way
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

wouldnt get 220hp out of a 2.8 either, thats alot of power, well you mite but drivablity will be crap, will just be a dyno queen, you want fast spool turbo so no lag but big enough that it doesnt run out of puff up the top

It is small, But it is very efficient at high pressure ratios and it pumps the air!
Is the same turbo used on the Nissan ST-X 450 so i know it will make the numbers, just need to get fuel in there but thats no big issue..

they can be but are non rebuildable hence we fit new ones $3350 for a new genuine one, they run ihi and garrett turbos from the factory, most blow at around 150,000km

Boss has one of those new Navaras. They do go quite well for Diesels. I've given the odd boy a fright when using it

subscribed. It like to see a custom high mount exhaust manifold on it too haha. Runing over 20psi on a 4jg2 would you have to get arp head studs & a thicker head gasket?
