Cracked exhaust manifold 2000 Rodeo with 4JB1T engine

Postby IanC1965 » Sat Jul 31, 2021 8:00 pm

Hi guys this is my first post on this forum though I have been a long term reader and have found it very helpful in the past.

My beloved Rodeo has a cracked exhaust manifold and I had a friend arc weld it for me with bronze core rods but it only lasted a few weeks before the crack reappeared.
I kept my old 1990 Rodeo for spare parts after it threw a leg but unfortunately for me the manifold from it has a slightly wider stud pattern and port where it bolts to the turbo. It is also a much more solid looking manifold then the later model.

I know this topic has been dealt with in previous posts although I’m basically hoping someone might know where I can get hold of a second hand manifold or a kit for a steam pipe assembly. Or any other suggestions appreciated.
I'm on the South Coast of NSW Near Bega in Australia, Cheers

The earlier model 90-97 4jb1t had bigger turbo and manifold than the 2000 model ring a few wreckers i see on eBay there's a couple of 2000 rodeos with that engine getting wrecked.

Thanks stardog I did contemplate fitting the old manifold and turbo but it drops down at 90 degrees unlike the original that is at 45. I was worried it would cause problems with the oil filter and cooler, has anyone ever tried this?
