Hi there,

I have just registered as a new member and saw your post! I don't know if this helps but I recently replaced the clutch assembly, spigot bearing and rear mainseal on my 1995 Bighorn 4jg2 (without a workshop manual). It was a prick of a job that I took my time over 4 weeks. I modified my floor jack to remove the transmission!

From BNT, the mainseal came preassembled with a steel speedy sleeve. I made a disc a out of 12mm plywood on my lathe (like a pineapple ring). OD was crankshaft dia and ID was spigot housing dia. I was able to fit the disc over the spigot housing and use it as a guide to fit the seal/speedy sleeve combination. I was able to retrieve the old mainseal without munting it too badly. I used this as a drift to carefully hammer the new seal assembly in place flush with engine block. I used sealant between speedy sleeve and crankshaft. Hope this makes sense? So far so good it all works and I certainly dont want to repeat this job again LOL!

Cheers Jake

There is a set dimension that the seal is pressed into the block, so the tooling needs to have the correct step depth for fitment
