what size anlternator belts are you using. we have 15a1030m but they run out of tensioner slot before being tight. i have tried the next size down, but its way too small to get on. has anyone extended to slot further outboard?

Mine is a 15A-1015 on a 4jg2. However it is very tight to get on new. Most part books quote the same belt you have but it is too long

I struck that a while ago Cant remember the brands but my thought was that one measured the outside of the belt

Found the real issue. The slotted tensioner had been broken at some point and welded shorter.
