diesel runaway or something else?

Postby thewizard » Tue Mar 01, 2022 9:34 am

Hey people,

Im new to the isuzu world sooo.
I have a 1996 isuzu wizard and lastweek sometime something had happen to my wizard . Was driving then all of a sudden truck just started spitting diesel or oil everywhere and it looked like i just done a mad burnout so got out and choked the intake pipe to cut the engine before that about 15minutes earlier i topped up the engine oil . A guy told me it could have been diesel runaway and also something to do with crankcase maybe and also the turbo might be stuffed idk im stuck , if anyone has experience around these things or knows there way around a 4jg2 any suggestions or any similar cases would be great cheers.

Rare but can happen. Engine oil is as good a fuel as diesel for a diesel engine. Possibilities. Excess fumming causing oil vapour in the intake in sufficient quanties to burn. overfilling oil caused some to make its way into the intake turbo seals allowing oil into the intake

thanks for the insight ill most likely look at changing all oil passages and oil flush and change . then look into the seal on turbo , most likely the seal is broken because it looks like their is leaking around turbo. cheers @geeves

With the engine running see what crankcase fumes are like
