EGR Valve location - Isuzu Trooper 2800 Turbo

Postby ABTJ1 » Wed May 11, 2022 1:53 am

Hi there,

I have a LR Defender with an old style Isuzu 2800 turbo in it, (intake manifold is 4 separate pipes) if that helps, and I’m struggling to find the egr valve? I can’t tell if I’m blind but I’ve been told that it definitely has one.

Any help would be great,

Many thanks,
Antony.

It might not. The gear drive 4jb1 engines dont always. There should be 2 valves on the inlet manifold that connect to a pipe that goes across the engine to the exhaust manifold. If its not obvious it isnt there. Is there a place on the manifold that looks like it was cast ready for machining? If so thats where it would be if it had it. Is there a plate bolted to the manifold and another on the back of the exhaust manifold? Thats where it should be
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
