No warning lights on dash rodeo 2.8 diesel 1996 au

I have a slow discharge on my battery on 4wd diesel rodeo 1996 and when I was touching the neg terminal with the lead it has stopped the warning lights in the dash. The battery is good and the leak appears to be in the milliamp range. Any ideas? I can not seem to find a fuse marked ignition
