ECM replacement

Postby JCBATCH » Wed Jan 25, 2023 7:04 am

I have a 1989 Trooper with the V6 engine “LL2” and 5 speed transmission “M75”, but it does not have the ECM. My question is, will an ECM from a 1991 Trooper with V6 engine “LL2” and automatic transmission “RQM” work as a replacement?

Is that the 3.1 v6? That is a chevy engine so you might have more luck getting the correct ecm from a chev. Thinking about this though isnt that v6 a carburetor engine? Does it even need a ecm?
Your 5 speed has no ecm so the ecm from an auto will not do anything

The Trooper has the GM 2.8 V6 with TB carb.

What do you want to get by adding an ECM?
