HELP PLEASE speedo wiring 96 wizard

Hey all re 96 wizard
my speedo stopped working and the meter and tail lights fuses poped. I cannot get the darn thing to work. can someone enlighten me as to where or what colours the red, white and black from the sensor actually end up? i have rewired almost all the 3 wires. white to the L/B at the dash. Black to G/B and red to an ignition wire, i used a convenient white +12 ( think i should be using the meter +12). the gauges cluster and the speed sensor have been tried in one our our other wizards, both work fine. Attempted to trace the 3 wires in another wizard, but could only nail down the White to L/B for sure.

White to the blue/black on the cluster plug. Red take from any full yellow around the cluster. Black grounded,
