STOP SOLENOID ALTERNATOR

had an alternator go in my truck battery light came on. the warning lights went off after a while and i put a new alternator in it brand new and she is charging fine only problem is that it wont stop on the key keeps running unless you put it in reverse then it will stop i also have no warning lights comming on when alternator is unpluged has anybody got any ideas it cant be the stop solenoid as it stops if i put it in reverse not sure how the warning lights are activated thanks

Ive heard of this happening when alternators of non factory design were used ie different regulator settup. Can be solved with a big diode but not sure on how to set it up.
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

do you know where i could get a wiring diagrame for 91 tfs 2.5 diesel. also is alternator light on dash operated by the charge relay i have replaced the relay still dosent come on when motors not running any help appreciated :)

How did you resolve this issue?
I am having a similar Issue with my 4jb1T UBS55. It does not turn off when I use the key.
