1992 Bighorn Irmscher Auto Trans Fluid Capacity

Postby 1992Shorty » Wed Jan 27, 2021 8:29 pm

About to drain the fluid in my auto trans, just wondering how much should be in it? going to measure the fluid that comes out but just want to make sure i put the right amount back in, also what fluid should i be putting back in? shes a well used old girl with 370000kms on the clock and no doubt it hasn't had trans oil change in awhile

(NOTE: just picked her up a week ago and traveled 1000kms to get her home, no slips or misses in the gears, should the 370000kms decide weather i should go thicker gb oil or thin?)

Auto Trans uses Dexron 3 oil No other choice available. The capacity is 8.6 litres but you cant fully drain it. I cant find the actual amount for a change but it is between 5 and 7 litres
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
