Hi there, I'm Pete, I'm 24 and live in the UK. Just joined the forum so I thought I better put a post up and introduce myself! I've had my trooper (2000 4JX1) a few years and have done a few mods that I'll detail below. Any comments on what to do next would be appreciated. Me and a friend of mine do a lot of work on troopers here in the UK so I know the engines pretty well, so I'll try and offer my advice where I can.
Modifications and Accessories:
Suspension: 2.5" lift using Landrover coils and a torsion bar crank, +3" rear rough country shocks, +1" old man emu nitrocharger sport shocks on the front with a 1/2" spacer.
Body Lift: 1.5" body lift, homemade using alluminium pucks.
Tyres/Wheels: 285 75 r16 (33") BFGoodrich km2 mud terrains on 16x8 black modulars.
Traction Aids: Rear LSD and plans for a front Aussie locker, I'll be doing a 1.5" diff drop when I fit the locker.
Bullbar: factory 'A bar' but starting to think about making a arb style winch bumper and fitting a winch.
Spot lights and Lighting: Super bright headlight bulbs and rear work lights fitted on the roof.
Communications/GPS: Cb radio
Dual Batteries: Yes
Engine: 4JX1 3.0 diesel, throttle body flap removed, egr valve disconnected, viscous fan removed and twin electric unit fitted.
Exhaust: Standard exhaust with the cat removed. Plans for a stainless exhaust in the pipeline.
Sound system: Standard speakers, aftermarket head unit with iPod attachment.
External: factory fitted arches, bonnet scoop and sunroof. Safari snorkel, custom made 6mm alluminium bash plate, custom HD tie rods, custom rocksliders in the workshop (just need to finish the welding off!) asin munual hubs. Extended, braided stainless steel brake lines.
Internal: rear seats removed and moulded plastic liner installed, homemade dog guard, aftermarket seats in the workshop waiting to be fitted.
