first is engine temp. This is the standard guage. If the cooling system is in good condition there should be no worry as it will be rare to be using full power for long enough periods at low speeds to even have an effect
second is exhaust gas temp. This kills engines and is the real cause of hilux head failures at 4000 a time. More boost allows more fuel which makes more heat but also more boost means more gas flow which cools the exhaust. A thing to note is that the boost compensator on the pump does a good job of adjusting the fuel rate but if you want to adjust to get the extra power you should also fit a pyrometer or EGT guage. Never let it over 650C or dull red at the turbo. They are expensive but so are turbos and heads. The EGT comes down very quickly when you lift the foot
